'Trump Force One' Gets Into Fender Bender at Airport

Donald Trump's private plane had a seemingly minor mishap in Florida over the weekend. WFLA reports that on Sunday, a Boeing 757 with the registration number N757AF clipped an empty private jet parked at West Palm Beach International Airport, with an FAA notice announcing the moving plane was taxiing when its "winglet struck the rear elevator of a parked VistaJet." (The New York Times notes that a winglet "is a small tip curving off the end of an aircraft's wing in order to reduce aerodynamic drag.") That vehicle number, which can also be seen imprinted on the side of the former president's "Trump Force One" aircraft, is registered to DJT Operations I LLC, a Trump company.

An FAA rep tells WFLA that the accident took place close to 1:30pm local time, and that it "occurred in an area of the airport where the FAA does not direct aircraft." A source tells the Washington Post that the incident happened as the ground crew was directing Trump's plane. There didn't appear to be any reported injuries, and damage is listed as "unknown." It's also not clear if Trump himself was on board at the time; the Times notes that the accident happened just a few hours after the ex-commander in chief attended a campaign rally at the Jersey Shore.
