Contemplating a work in memory of Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan while researching links to Al-Qaida, Reich was struck by the young journalist's video affirmation: "My name is Daniel Pearl." These words, crisscrossed with dark verses from the biblical Book of Daniel, set the frame for this disturbing and hypnotic creation, premiered at the Barbican in October 2006.
