The new French Economics and Finance Minister Christine Lagarde will be accompanied by the new French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Ecofin (Economic and Financial Affairs) Council on 9 and 10 July. On 20 June, Sarkozy announced to French MPs that he planned to go to Brussels with his minister to explain his new economic policy.
