Ecofin President Christine Lagarde announced that after the Paris declaration by the heads of state of four of the G8 countries on 4 October, and the declaration by the 27 at the Eurogroup two days later, the 27 finance ministers went even further, on 7 October, building a new doctrine on financial institutions to protect Europe from the financial turbulence on stock markets.
