Markets plummet again as worldwide recession looms FTSE crash follows heavy losses in Asia and United States

A FRESH wave of turmoil hit global stock markets today as investors prepare for an imminent world recession.

Billions of pounds evaporated from the UK's main index within minutes of the opening of trade today.

The FTSE 100 Index crashed by ten per cent this morning as panic again spread through the markets.

More than 400 points were wiped off the index in a devastating early session trading, taking the Footsie below the 4000 level. It comes after heavy losses were posted overnight in Asia and the United States.
