Following the precedent of such shows as "ER" and "Spin City," the producers of "Scrubs" face the challenge of finding life after the departure of their star. Zach Braff has indicated he probably will leave the comedy after its eighth season, which will return on ABC in midseason. But creator/show runner Bill Lawrence and ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson insist there can be life after J.D., with the development of new stars.
