Local duo collects used cooking oil to fuel modified diesel Mercedes

Jugs of cooking oil fueled Rick Campbell's car all the way to Toronto and for most of the trip back.

Campbell and his family were only 150 miles away from their home when he finally ran out of oil and had to fill up his diesel-fueled Mercedes at a gas station. Every time they pulled into a station before that, it was to purchase food or drinks, not gasoline.

"We pulled in, grabbed two bottles of water and watched everyone else filling up their gas tanks," Campbell said. "It was a funny feeling."
