Eugene police surrounded a south Eugene home Sunday and shot and injured a man wanted in connection with a shooting Saturday night that left one victim dead and another seriously injured.

The suspect, 32-year-old Juan Carlos Aleman of Eugene, allegedly brandished two large knives and refused police orders to drop his weapons during the noon standoff, interim police Chief Pete Kerns said. Aleman was shot with rounds from a beanbag gun, a rifle and a Taser before police were able to bring him under control, Kerns said. A waiting ...
