DANA POINT, Calif. - Whenever baseball officials gather to discuss trades and free agents, it seems only a matter of time before agent Scott Boras effectively takes over the meetings, thanks to his aggressive negotiating style and stable of high-profile clients.

These GM meetings are no different. Boras represents arguably the two top position players on the market, former Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez and first baseman Mark Teixeira, and had plenty to say about it yesterday.

(Newser) – Scott Boras, fired by Alex Rodriguez over the winter, is trying to play peacemaker between the Yankees star and his estranged wife, the New York Daily News reports. Boras met with the couple over the weekend in Toronto, where Cynthia Rodriguez had brought daughter Natasha, 3, to visit her father. Boras "seems to be there with the blessing of the Yankees' front office," one source said, which "welcomes anyone who can get A-Rod's mind back onto baseball."
