SANTA CLARITA -- An unemployed man jumped to his death Monday from a freeway overpass, despite an hours-long effort to return him to safety, authorities said.
The man, who appeared to be in his 30s and whose identity was not immediately disclosed, left his car and walked to the ledge overhanging the interchange between the Golden State and Antelope Valley freeways, said sheriff's Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita station.
