The Airbus A320 aircraft which crashed in Brazil on 17 July had one of its two reverse thrusters turned off, according to reports.

The aircraft, operated by Brazilian airline TAM (Bovespa: TAMM4) (NYSE: TAM), crashed after landing at Sao Paulo's Congonhas airport following a flight from Porto Alegre. It skidded off the runway in wet weather and went on to slide across a road in a residential area before hitting buildings and bursting into flames.
