As rescue workers in Cameroon retrieved the remains of victims of the Kenya Airways crash from a fetid swamp, relatives of the South African passengers were given all the gory details of what to expect of their loved ones' fate in the coming days.

Yesterday, about 40 relatives and friends were briefed by officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Kenya Airways officials at O R Tambo International Airport.
