If you had an appointment at the old Planned Parenthood building
on Beacon Street in Brookline, you'd walk up the steps to the vintage
brownstone, press a button, and be buzzed in.

Today, the new office on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston is a
compound. Security cameras affixed to the roof record entrances.
Notices are posted on the front wall in bold letters: "All Persons
Entering This Facility Are Subject to Search." Taped to the window is
