Marine Biology Student Releases Little Skates into the Wild

University of New England issued the following news release:

University of New England marine biology student Brittany Palm '09 and Assistant Professor James Sulikowski, Ph.D., with the help of some other students, released about a hundred little skates into the natural environment on Nov. 20, 2008 at UNE's Freddy Beach.

The little skates (Leucoraja erinacea) had been hatched at UNE's Marine Science Education and Research Center as part of a research project by Palm, which investigated different aspects of the little skate's reproductive biology. Her project is titled "Variability in little ...
