The National Sleep Foundation issued the following news release:
While women who regularly exercise can reduce their risk of cancer, not enough sleep can cancel out those benefits, according to findings reported at a meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research. Researchers with the National Cancer Institute studied 5,968 women in Maryland for 10 years and found that physically active women, ages 18 to 65, who slept less than seven hours each night had an increased overall cancer risk compared with those who got more sleep.
