The United States Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) has recognised the GMC Acadia with high ranking in its Top Safety Pick 2008.

The GMC Acadia received high rating in its front, side and rear impacts. It features standard Stabilitrak, an advanced electronic stability control system.
