PARIS: Europe's top four economies yesterday called for more co-ordination of efforts to combat financial market instability and voiced hope that the region will weather a credit crunch that central banks are struggling to fight off.
"If there are two words that we should focus on, they are transparency and supervision," French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde told a news conference after hosting a meeting with her counterparts from Germany, Britain and Italy.
