SAN DIEGO (AP) — Officials at the U.S. Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego are searching the base after an unconfirmed report of an armed individual there.

Navy spokesman Brian O'Rourke said Thursday that a shelter-in-place order was issued for parts of the base.

O'Rourke stresses that there are no reports of shots fired.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and Navy security personnel are on scene.
