Markets Right Now: US stocks struggle to a mixed finish

NEW YORK (AP) — The latest on developments in global financial markets (all times local):

Stocks are ending mixed after a day of wavering between small gains and losses as investors pore over a big batch of company earnings reports.

McDonald's dropped 4.5 percent, the biggest loss in the Dow Jones industrial average, after the hamburger chain reported disappointing sales growth in the U.S.

Texas Instruments jumped 8 percent after the technology company reported quarterly results that were better than anticipated.

The Dow lost 19 points, or 0.1 percent, to 18,473, weighed down by the drop in McDonald's.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index edged up less than a point to 2,169. The Nasdaq composite rose 12 points, or 0.2 percent, to 5,110.

Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.56 percent.
