Detroit outscored Texas 37-10 in the three-game series, and has now won a season-best four straight. The Rangers have lost seven in a row.

Detroit starter Jeremy Bonderman (1-2) didn't get a decision after dealing with severe control problems. Bonderman only allowed two hits, but needed 111 pitches to get through 4 2-3 innings thanks to a hit batter and a career-worst seven walks.

Zach Miner (1-1) followed with 3 1-3 hitless innings as the Tigers pulled away.

Jason Jennings (0-4) allowed five runs on five hits and five walks in five innings, raising his ERA to 7.46 in five starts.

Michael Young homered for Texas in the first, as did Curtis Granderson for the Tigers.

Bonderman's control problems finally caught up with him in the fifth. After hitting Frank Catalanotto with a pitch and allowing a two-out single to Hank Blalock, Bonderman walked Jason Botts to load the bases, then walked David Murphy to force home the tying run.

Ordonez, who hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the third, made it 5-2 with a three-run homer off Jennings in the fifth, and Brandon Inge and Ryan Raburn hit back-to-back home runs against Kazuo Fukumori in the next inning.

Carlos Guillen missed the game for Detroit with a bruised knee. Tigers leftfielder Jacque Jones hurt his knee when he collided with the fence while chasing a foul ball in the fourth. He stayed in the game and batted in the bottom of the inning, but was replaced by Raburn for the fifth.
