MOSCOW (AP) — Cycling's world governing body, the UCI, has cut ties with Russian anti-doping agency managing director Nikita Kamaev amid Russia's doping scandal.

Kamaev's agency, known as RUSADA, was suspended by the World Anti-Doping Agency after a WADA commission alleged that its staff helped to cover up failed drug tests by Russian athletes.

Kamaev had sat on the anti-doping commission of the UCI, which says that after RUSADA's suspension, "it was agreed that Mr Nikita Kamaev would suspend his involvement ... until further notice."

Speaking to the Associated Press, Kamaev declined to confirm whether his suspension from the UCI was voluntary, saying he was unable to issue any comment to media organizations while RUSADA is under investigation.
