WASHINGTON (AP) — The foundation building President Barack Obama's future library is adding the head of an African-American art museum and two major Democratic fundraisers to its board.

The Barack Obama Foundation says Thelma Golden is joining the board. She's the director and chief curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem, which promotes artists of African descent.

Venture capitalist John Doerr is also joining the board. Doerr has raised major sums for Obama and other Democratic candidates. He's also served on Obama's jobs council.

Obama's former White House social secretary Julianna Smoot is rejoining the board. Smoot held top fundraising roles in Obama's 2008 and 2012 campaigns. She stepped aside last year during the site selection competition.

The foundation announced this year that the Obamas had chosen Chicago to host the library.
