WASHINGTON (AP) — The national "Nerd Prom" is drawing a wide mix of Hollywood and Washington power players for the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
Tea Leoni, who plays the nation's chief diplomat on TV's "Madam Secretary," arrived arm in arm Saturday with the first female secretary of state, Madeleine Albright. Their entourage includes CBS' Bob Schieffer and Leoni's TV husband, Tim Daly.
The correspondents' dinner has grown into a massive undertaking since its 1914 roots. It draws an array of celebrity guests, including actors from political dramas like Kerry Washington and Darby Stanchfield from ABC's "Scandal." But also much of the "Modern Family" cast is there, along with would-be presidential candidate Donald Trump.
President Barack Obama is set to speak to the crowd, as well as Cecily Strong from "Saturday Night Live."
