Pavelec helps Jets edge Senators 2-1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Ondrej Pavelec had 25 saves, and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1 in a preseason game on Tuesday night.

Jim Slater and Nikolaj Ehlers scored for Winnipeg, which lost 3-1 at Edmonton on Monday night.

Buddy Robinson had Ottawa's only goal at 14:42 of the second. Robin Lehner made 12 saves, and Craig Anderson stopped 10 shots.

Ehlers, a native of Denmark who was the ninth overall pick in this year's NHL draft, scored his first preseason goal at 6:22 of the second. Matt Halischuk set it up with a nice pass across the front of the net.
