In this photo by Joshua Paul, a Malaysian religious student walks in the National Mosque during Islam's holiest month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, which is intended to be a monthlong spiritual cleansing and an exercise is self-restraint, Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex from dawn to dusk. Two-thirds of Malaysia's 30 million people are Muslim. Friday prayers at mosques usually include special Quran-reading sessions.
