A look at what's happening all around the major leagues Thursday:

___

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Josh Hamilton makes his return to Texas when the Rangers host the Boston Red Sox. The 2010 AL MVP was dealt back to the Rangers by the Angels after he had a self-reported drug and alcohol relapse in the offseason. Hamilton returned from shoulder surgery on Monday and is 1 for 11 in his first three games, all in Cleveland. The five-time All-Star last played with Texas in the 2012 wild-card game.

MAKEUP GAMES

The White Sox and Orioles are set to make up the two games that were postponed because of civil unrest in Baltimore last month after the death of a black man while he was in police custody. The first two games of that series were postponed, the third was played in Camden Yards without any fans.

LONG TIME, NO SEE

Indians catcher Yan Gomes is set to be behind the plate for Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber for the first time since he went out with a knee injury six weeks ago. Cleveland opens a series at Seattle, which reached .500 for the first time since April 12 after sweeping the Rays.

GETTING THE CALL

The Detroit Tigers are calling up Buck Farmer to make a spot start for the injured Kyle Lobstein when they open a series at the Angels. Farmer is 5-1 with a 2.98 ERA for Triple-A Toledo. C.J. Wilson starts for the Angels.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME II

Lefty CC Sabathia, who grew up in Northern California, starts for the Yankees in the opener of a series at Oakland. Kendall Graverman starts for the A's.
