FREETOWN, Sierra Leone (AP) — An official says a British citizen infected with Ebola in Sierra Leone is being evacuated to the U.K. on a jet sent by the Royal Air Force.

Sidie Yayah Tunis, director of communications for Sierra Leone's health ministry, said the patient had been transported to the country's main airport in the town of Lungi and would fly out Sunday.

Tunis said the male patient, who has not been identified, was volunteering at a clinic in Kenema district in the east, the Sierra Leone region that has been most affected by Ebola. The government says 303 people have become infected in the district.

The World Health Organization says Sierra Leone has recorded 910 Ebola cases and 392 deaths.

Britain confirmed Saturday a patient living in Sierra Leone was infected with Ebola.
