WASHINGTON (AP) — George H.W. Bush is featured in a Democratic candidate's campaign ad in Georgia but a spokesman says the former president plans to endorse the eventual Republican nominee for Senate.

Likely Democratic nominee Michelle Nunn's first campaign commercial includes images of the former president. Nunn was an executive at the Bush-inspired Points of Light Foundation and worked with the former president.

But Bush aide Jim McGrath said Thursday the ex-president wants to see Republicans reclaim the majority in the Senate, which would require the GOP to hold all of its current seats and pick up six more. Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss is retiring from his seat in Georgia, and Democrats see it as an opportunity for them.

Republicans in Georgia are looking at a seven-way primary fight for the nomination.
