MIAMI (AP) — Miami Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon has issued an apology on Twitter following his return from an 80-game suspension for a positive drug test.

Gordon says in a video that he's learned from his mistake and will come back stronger. The 2015 NL batting and stolen base champion was reinstated before Thursday's game against St. Louis.

When Gordon tested positive for two performance-enhancing substances and was suspended in late April, team president David Samson said the Marlins leadoff hitter had betrayed the team and fans. Samson said Wednesday the team was glad to have him back.

Gordon acknowledged in April that he unknowingly took the banned substances.
