WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign says it is on track to report that it has raised more than $45 million since its launch in mid-April.

That's according to a Clinton campaign official who was not authorized to speak publicly about the preliminary fundraising totals and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Clinton official says the previous record of primary money raised in a candidate's first quarter in the race was $41.9 million, set by President Barack Obama's re-election campaign in 2011.

Clinton is the leading Democratic presidential contender and will be releasing her first fundraising totals in July. The fundraising quarter ended Wednesday night.

The report will be closely watched to see how her campaign compares to other Democrats and a large field of Republican candidates.
