NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. stock market is opening moderately higher as investors prepare for a busy week of company earnings news.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 73 points, or 0.5 percent, to 18,154. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose five points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,122. The Nasdaq composite climbed 11 points, or 0.2 percent, to 5,104.

More than 150 companies in the S&P 500 will report their results this week, including Apple, Ford and Exxon Mobil. Investors will also pay close attention to a two-day meeting at the Federal Reserve, which starts Tuesday.

The market's early move higher follows a notable week for stocks, in which the Nasdaq closed at an all-time high.

U.S. government bond prices fell, pushing up the yield on the 10-year Treasury to 1.93 percent.
