Steven Bochco, the brains behind "L.A. Law" and "Hill Street Blues," is the latest to move from the small screen to the short attention span. His new project is "Cafe Confidential," an online video featuring a series of brief clips from members of the under-30 crowd hanging out in cafes and confessing amusing—and embarrassing—personal stories for your entertainment.

"The idea is that this becomes an electronic online campfire around which we sit and tell stories," Bochco said. "I'm the camp counselor." Bochco prefers that role to that of old guard fighting online outlaws. "If you spend your life chasing your consumers and filing lawsuits, that's a fool's errand," Bochco said. "At the end of the day, the consumer always wins." (More entertainment stories.)
