The following recalls have been announced:
_ About 610,000 Halloween flashlights, manufactured in China and imported by Target Corp. of Minneapolis, because they can overheat and melt. The company has received eight reports of overheated and melted flashlights, including one report of hand burns. _ About 69,000 Sony VAIO computer AC adapters, manufactured in China by Sony Electronics Inc. of San Diego, because they can fail and pose and electrical shock risk as they are used over time. The company has received four reports of short-circuiting adapters, but no reports in the United States. No injuries have been reported. The recalled adapters were sold at SonyStyle stores and through the SonyStyle Web site, as well as by authorized electronics retailers and authorized business-to-business dealers nationwide between September 2005 and October 2009.
