Correction: Light Bulb Backlash story

In some versions of an Oct. 28 story about a utility company's plan to distribute energy-efficient light bulbs, The Associated Press erroneously reported what would have been covered by a charge to customers of 60 cents a month for three years. The charge would have covered the cost and distribution of two bulbs and lost electricity sales, not just the lost sales.

That story and stories on Oct. 8 and Oct. 25 also should have made it clear that the two bulbs and their distribution would cost the company $3.50 each, not total.
