Authorities: Woman fatally shot at Christian camp in California, suspect in custody

Woman shot, killed at Christian camp in California

A 60-year-old woman has been shot and killed at a religious camp in California's San Bernardino Mountains.

San Bernardino County sheriff's officials say a staff member at Camp Cedar Falls reported a shooting in the conference center in the camp's lodge on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller says the unidentified woman was a guest at the Christian camp, which is owned by the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Miller says 30-year-old Leith Hamilton of Angelus Oaks has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

She says detectives believe the two knew each other but witnesses have not reported any argument between them.

Church spokeswoman Betty Cooney says she didn't have any details on the shooting.
