Des Moines lawyer Roxanne Conlin has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate, setting up a race with five-term Republican Sen. Charles Grassley.

Conlin won with an overwhelming percentage of the vote Tuesday, easily outdistancing Tom Fiegen and Bob Krause.

Conlin has long been considered the front-runner because of her name familiarity and fundraising ability.

Fiegen, of Clarence, works as a bankruptcy lawyer. Krause, of Fairfield, retired after working as a manager for the federal and state transportation departments. Both are former legislators.
