Weylandt seriously injured in fall at Giro

Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt has been seriously hurt in a crash during the third stage of the Giro d'Italia.

The Leopard-Trek rider fell at high speed during a descent about 12.4-miles from the finish and lay motionless on the roadside before paramedics tried to resuscitate him.

Monday's third stage is a 107-mile ride from Reggio Emilia to Rapello.
