A new program is streaming live the annual migration of hundreds of polar bears in Canada.

The bears travel through the small town of Churchill, Manitoba, each fall and wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze up so they can hunt for seals. In the past, their trek was witnessed mainly by scientists and intrepid tourists.

Now, thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Annenberg Foundation, the bears' antics and actions at this way station can be viewed from anybody's living room at www.explore.org.

Krista Wright of Montana-based Polar Bears International says the streaming cameras help raise awareness of climate change's effects on the animals' habitat.

Foundation vice president Charles Annenberg Weingarten says he hopes to expand it into a program of streaming cameras in various wild places
