A look at what's happening around the majors today:

FARQUHAR STATUS

The Chicago White Sox will continue to monitor pitcher Danny Farquhar, who was hospitalized in stable but critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage. The reliever fell ill Friday night in the dugout after pitching against Houston. The White Sox announced Saturday that additional testing revealed the brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm.

HE'S HERE

Top prospect Gleyber Torres is set to join the New York Yankees for his big league debut. The 21-year-old infielder will report to Yankee Stadium for the game against Toronto. Torres hit .347 with three doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 RBIs for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has played second base, shortstop and third base in the minors.

BULLISH

Shohei Ohtani is scheduled to throw a bullpen session that will give the Angels a better idea if the blister that forced the Japanese two-way sensation out of his last pitching start has healed. Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said he'll wait until after the game to confirm when Ohtani's next pitching start will be. It could be Monday at Houston.

A blister on Ohtani's right middle finger ended Tuesday night's start against Boston after just two innings. He allowed four hits and three runs on 66 pitches, and couldn't throw his breaking pitches for strikes.

PHILLING GOOD

The Phillies try for a sweep when Nick Pivetta faces Pittsburgh at Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia, which lost 96 times last season, has won three in a row and is 13-7 under new manager Gabe Kapler.

LEFT LANE

Padres rookie Joey Lucchesi (2-0, 1.66 ERA) faces Arizona's Patrick Corbin (3-0, 1.65) in Phoenix for a matchup of unbeaten left-handers. Corbin took a no-hitter into the eighth inning of his last start. The 24-year-old Lucchesi will be making his fifth start since his major league debut this season.
