How Do I Use Newser?

You're here, so that’s step one. Next: Watch the video below for a quick lesson in how to get the most out of Newser.

Sign up for a Newser account (register here) and you'll be able to customize the news grid to your tastes and join in the conversation on the news:

Contribute: Write your own Newser story! If we like it, we’ll feature it on our homepage. Learn more >>

Comment: Share your two cents on stories on the grid and Off The Grid columns. You need to be logged in to leave a comment.

Customize: Tired of recession news, or fed up with stories about the latest starlet? Adjust your grid so you see more of the serious stuff and less of the fluff—or vice versa. Click Customize Page on any grid page. In the box that opens, move the slider to the left for more serious, immediate news, or to the right for lighter, gossipy stories.

Mark: Want a quick and easy way to see which stories you haven't read yet? Click Customize Page and check the box “Mark Stories I’ve Read.” We’ll dim the stories you’ve already read so you can easily identify any you’ve missed.
