Not one, not two, but three cities have for the first time tied for the most expensive to call home in the annual Economist Intelligence Unit survey. Singapore, Paris, and Hong Kong share the distinction. Asian and European cities dominate the list of 10 cities—compiled by evaluating the cost of 160 items, from beer to utility bills to transportation to rent, in 133 cities worldwide—though two US cities, priciest for utilities and domestic help, also make the list, reports CNN. On the flip side, many of the cheapest cities to live in are experiencing some form of political or economic disruption, which means they're less livable and carry a level of risk, per the BBC. No. 1, for instance, is Caracas, Venezuela. The most and least expensive cities:

1. Singapore
1. Paris, France
1. Hong Kong, China
4. Zurich, Switzerland
5. Geneva, Switzerland
5. Osaka, Japan
7. Seoul, South Korea
7. Copenhagen, Denmark
7. New York, USA
10. Tel Aviv, Israel
