(Newser) – A flight was forced to return to Chicago's Midway Airport yesterday morning after a cargo door opened and two pieces of luggage fell to the ground, the Chicago Tribune reports. Shortly after takeoff, sensors detected the open cargo door and a pressure problem in the cabin, an FAA spokeswoman said. One of the bags was recovered this afternoon.

The Atlanta-bound flight, operated by Atlantic Southeast for Delta, returned to the airport shortly after takeoff, having earned a nonstop ticket to an FAA investigation. Chicago police promptly went on the lookout for the missing baggage. The recovered piece landed about half a mile from Midway; its condition wasn't known, police said.
