Tens of thousands of raucous Bostonians cheered at the victory parade today for their beloved World Series champion Red Sox. Bekilted by the Dropkick Murphys, an Irish-influenced punk band, excitable closer Jonathan Papelbon delighted and bemused the crowd with his inimitable jigging. Josh Beckett struck out the first four batters he faced, and Dustin Pedroia belted Colorado starter Jeff Francis's second pitch of the game over the Green Monster to give Boston a surge of momentum the team would never relinquish, beating the Rockies 13-1 in Game 1 of the World Series.
