OJ Cronies Plead Guilty, Will Testify Against Him

(Newser) – Two of OJ's cronies in the alleged sports memorabilia robbery case pleaded guilty today to reduced charges as part of an agreement that will have them testifying against the Juice, the AP reports. Walter Alexander and Charles Cashmore accepted charges of felony conspiracy to commit robbery and felony accessory to robbery, respectively. Their testimony is expected to strengthen the prosecution's case against OJ.

With their guilty pleas, both men are dodging the larger charges of felony kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy that OJ and the three other defendants face. Both men may avoid jail time. The trial is scheduled to begin next month. If convicted, the kidnapping charge alone could net Simpson life imprisonment.
