(User Submitted) – Director Paul Thomas Anderson's Scientology project has stalled, according to Examiner.com. The movie was to feature actors Jeremy Renner and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Renner told TotalFilm that The Master, which would have focused on Scientology and an L. Ron Hubbard-like figure, has been postponed indefinitely.

“I was really bummed about that," he said. "It really kind of stalled because when we were rehearsing—Phil, Paul and myself—we kept coming up against a wall that we couldn’t overcome. Or at least Paul couldn’t overcome.” Read the full article.

Darn, I was hoping for something to wipe the plastic-looking smugness off the faces of the young Scientologists-in-training I see coming and going from their Scientology center a few doors down from my work on W. 48th Street in Manhattan.
