(Newser) – Today on myth-busting with Christine O'Donnell: Evolution! Keeping his promise to air an embarrassing clip of the tea party favorite every week until she agrees to come on his show, Bill Maher dug up a 1998 interview in which O'Donnell denies the plausibility of evolution.... More »

I wonder why she assumes that monkeys aren't evolving today, when actually they are evolving faster than her. Like every other animal, monkeys do evolve, and already seem to be catching up to the intellect of the average tea partier. Seriously though, who honestly believes that little miss former satan-worshiper chrissy has gone out and studied monkeys at Oxford, or where ever else she lied about attending, and determined whether monkeys were or were not undergoing genetic changes? This is a women who probably couldn't even spell genetics, and people are looking to her like she is some kind of authority figure on a scientific matter. Get real. Of course monkeys continue to experience naturally selective pressures. The only real problem is that she assumes that the end goal of monkeys undergoing genetic change is so that they can become humans one day. There is no end goal in evolution. Numerous people have pointed out that chimps, not monkeys, share a common ancestor, so it would be kind of like picking any two slightly similar looking animals and saying, "if evolution is true then why aren't hippos evolving into elephants?"

There's a book that says I was "created". All other books must be mistaken. Knowledge ended in the Middle Eastern desert 2000yrs ago when the goatherds learnt to write, and it's just so terrible that other people are still writing. All writing should have stopped after the goatherds (who had a god who liked the smell of burning flesh - especially if that flesh was your first-born son's) wrote their "verily" and "begat" stuff. Oh, and thinking, too. It should also stop.

Evolution might be a theory, but there is so much evidence you'd be an idiot to think it's entirely untrue
