A Georgia federal judge is facing drugs and weapons charges in a case as bizarre as anything he's likely to have heard on the bench. Veteran judge Jack Camp, 67, was busted on charges of possessing cocaine, marijuana, and prescription painkillers after buying the drugs from an undercover agent, according to federal agents. Camp, who came to the deal armed, planned to share the drugs with a stripper he has been having an affair with since last year, say FBI officials.

The judge's stripper girlfriend had been secretly recording their conversations and turning them over to the FBI, according to court papers. Camp, who presided over cases in US District Court in Atlanta for more than 20 years, had a reputation as a tough sentencer and was known to quote Shakespeare from the bench. His arrest is "almost like a Shakespearean tragedy," a defense attorney tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
