First his girlfriend accused Roberto Alomar of exposing her to HIV; now his wife is making the same claim. In her divorce papers, Maripily Rivera Alomar accuses the former baseball star of “intentionally, with corrupt intent” concealing his HIV diagnosis from her in order to have unprotected sex, the New York Post reports. Maripily staunchly defended Alomar when his ex-girlfriend aired similar accusations last year.

Now, she claims Alomar knew he had HIV and lied about it, telling her he’s been tested for STDs and the results were negative. Following their 2009 marriage, Maripily “learned from conclusive proof” Alomar was HIV-positive, causing her to "suffer extreme emotional distress, fear, and mental anguish." Maripily has not contracted HIV, but her filing notes that "uncertainty still exists due to the delay in the onset of the virus." Last year’s lawsuit, brought by Alomar’s ex-girlfriend Ilya Dall, was settled last May.
