Kristoff: Republican Rule a Trifecta of Torment

(User Submitted) – Conservative columnist Nicholas Kristoff predicts that Republican rule would aggravate unemployment and the debt, while failing to uphold national values.

On unemployment, he writes, "Under Republican leadership, we would have at least an additional 1.4 million people out of work. " He notes that the stimulus has swelled the national debt, but that "The Republicans propose other actions that worsen the fiscal situation even more."

Kristoff also states that deep tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans goes against national values by increasing the "gargantuan gap between rich and poor." He concludes, "The strong implication is that Republican rule would lead to the Trifecta of Torment: higher unemployment, worse deficits and greater inequity."
