He's rocking his inner geek, experimenting with Archimedes claim

(User Submitted) – President Obama says he'll be exercising his inner geek in an appearance on Discovery Channel show Mythbusters—but the myth he's busting has nothing to do with his birth certificate or whether he's secretly a Muslim. And unlike what usually happens on Mythbusters, he won't be blowing anything up. "I was a little frustrated with that," Obama said yesterday at the White House Science Fair.

Instead he will be helping Mythbusters hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman test the claim that Archimedes was able to concentrate solar rays using mirrors to burn ships at sea. Read the full article.

@cher: You've done a fine job of defining yourself and your views here on newser already -- nobody has to wait till 2012 to decide what category to put you in. By the way, how's that law degree coming? If you'd passed the bar exam I'm sure we'd have heard about it by now.

wait a sec, haven't the Mythbusters already done that myth like, a dozen times already. I love their show, but come on, find some new myths, especially for the frickin President.

Guys. Chill out. It's a ten minute MythBusters spot. I guarantee you that there was nothing about the economy/war/social issues/etc. he could have solved in that ten minutes by being in the Oval Office. When he starts actually being on time consuming shit like DWTS or Amazing Race (which is reality TV, NOT education like Mythbusters) I will worry about it.
